Annoyed

I have been pissed ever since that day when I was called or should I say termed as being 'self-centred'. If any of you guys reading this and actually think that I am so, post a comment cos I would really really like to hear why do you think I am so??

Today I realised that chatting online annoys me. I believe I am someone who relies on people's expression when they speak to me. Now can you see why chatting annoys me? Its terms like 'hmm..', 'ic', 'haha'........ I don't know if it is really meant when it is said... And for me that is super important!! I am on the verge of throwing everything away... I think I have now successfully talked utter crap on my blog... But hey!! Its MY blog... I can say whatever-the-hell I feel like saying...

Here's to YOU ( you know who you are and if you don't well I guess it was never meant to be then)
I can see you moving away. I can feel it. The way you speak, the way you act everything has changed since we first met. What baffles me is the reason - WHY?? There has to be a reason. And the least you can do is tell me what it is before you move away... And i know that day is coming soon...=(

When you least expect it....

Has anyone ever told you the phrase before - 'When you least expect it....'
If you are one of those people then welcome to the club. Many things in our lives happen when we least expect it to happen. Sort of catches us by surprise! It's all happy-happy smiley face when something pleasant or exciting happens suddenly. But when someone or something hurtful happens suddenly, it's hard to swallow.
Here's is my attempt to make a list of things that happened when I least expected. Maybe you should try making one yourself. Here goes :

When I least expected......
  • I found people that I can trust.
  • I found that people lie and cheat and that nobody can be trusted.
  • I realised that I am being used.
  • I realised that I am alone.
  • I fell in love.
  • I realised the hurt and pain of a broken heart.
  • I have people who care for me.
  • I saw the true side of some of my friends.
  • I saw the fun and exciting side of my friends.
  • I saw the extent my friends would go to help me.
  • I got hurt by the people that I cared for ever so much.
  • I realised that nobody's got your back but you yourself!!
  • It dawned on me the importance of family!
  • I found friends who actually mean what they say.
  • I found myself.
  • I lost myself.
  • I hurt myself.
  • I survived myself.
  • I confessed my feelings to you.
  • You broke my heart.
  • I realised that life without you is near to impossible.
  • You called me a self centered person.
  • I realised that I deserve much more than you.
  • I grew up, grew wiser and then a lot dumber.
  • I realised that what doesn't break you, makes you!!

Did You Know??

Here are some very interesting facts worth sharing with you guys..:

  • Mosquitoes have teeth.
  • In ancient England, people could not have sex without consent from the King. When people wanted to have a child, they had to solicit a permission to the monarchy. In turn they would supply a plaque to hang on their door when they had sexual relations. The plaque read "Fornication Under Consent of the King" (F.U.C.K) That is the origin of the word.
  • When the English settlers landed in Australia, they noticed a strange animal that jumped extremely high and far. They asked the aboriginal people using body language and signs trying to ask them about this animal. They responded with "Kan Ghu Ru" The English then adopted the word kangaroo. What the aboriginal people were really trying to say was 'We don't understand you' - "Kan Ghu Ru"!!!
  • Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
  • Starfish have no brains.
  • Statistically, people are more afraid of spiders than they are of dying.
  • Butterflies taste with their feet.
  • All polar bears are left handed.
  • The muscles in your heart have the strength to shoot your blood 10 metres in the air.
  • Humans and dolphins are the only animals that have sex for pleasure.
  • It is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.
  • A cockroach can live 9 days without its head. It only dies because it cannot eat.
  • During historic civil wars, when troops returned without any casualties, a writing was put up so all can see which read " 0 Killed" From here we get the expression O.K. which means all is good.

Eventful week....

Hey guys, this week has been amazing and quite happening I must say! But the sad thing about the week is that I don't have any photos of it! *somehow forgot my camera on every single occasion*

So let's start!!

Friday (12-06-2009)
Halfday in Muar (awesomeness!!). Came back to Malacca and started packing my bags. All set to go back home (JB). My parents came down to Malacca to pick me up
*Yay!! Dun have to ride the bus* Left Malacca at around 530 pm. Zoomed back home safely..hehehe. Was so tired when we reached home at around 730 pm. Barely finished unloading all my stuff, the house phone rings - visitors coming to the house. Switch to clean up mode eventhough the house was perfectly clean *my mom always thinks the house is never too clean* Visitors come...talk talk... see see... eat eat.. talk talk some more and then finally decide to leave at around 1000 pm. All that while I was STARVING!! Once they left, me filled my plate wif food and sat in front of the TV but sadly there was nothing to watch. So after an amazing home cooked dinner....ZZZZZzzzzzzz...hehehehe...

Saturday (13-06-2009)
I was wide awake by 800 am
*who does that when they are on holiday be it only for the weekend??*. Tossing and turning in bed for like another one hour. Then time for breakfast!! Mom made mee goreng... * ohh how I missed home cooked food* Did absolutely nothing the rest of the day!! Man! do I love coming home or what??!! Drove mom in her new Saga to JB for Balvikas. Aunty Usha asked me to speak to a few students of my experience in the Balvikas - that brought back some fond and fun memories..Great times!! Came back home around 700 pm. Laze around for a bit then went out with Kalai, Sugu and Lee. It was so nice to see these guys after all this while! Went to town for dinner. I finally found a sheesha place in JB and it looks awesome but sadly could not try it as none of these guys sheesha..*tsk tsk..what has the world become to right? =P* Walked along Danga Bay for a bit.... joked about so many things and laughed so much... It was a great outing! Came back home at around 1200 am. Second round dinner (heheheheh...yes yes I know I am a pig!!) *always make it a point to eat food at home when I am on holiday* Slept with a happy and full stomach.

Sunday (14-06-2009)
Ahhh today I woke up later..900 am. =P Realised that it was Sunday already which means I have to go back to Malacca today...
*Oh no!! sob...sob..* Mom made my fav breakfast of all - THOSAI.... and yes it was yummy-licious!!. Then proceeded to start packing my bag. If you think its too early, you are wrong! I'm like the laziest and slowest person when it comes to packing bags and getting stuff ready! Mom and dad were busy in the kitchen cooking lunch and the aroma was.... well.. you get the picture right?? Makan makan makan... then got ready to leave for the bus station. =( *I don't wanna go!!!* The next thing I know I was on the bus on my way to Malacca. Being the last day of school holidays, the highway was jam-packed with cars and yes you thought right - TRAFFIC JAM. So the wonderful bus driver. who by the way was talking to himself and commenting about other drivers on the road throughout the WHOLE journey, decided to use the old road to avoid the jam. And the result - We did manage to avoid the jam but the drive took a long bumpy one hour to cover a distance of 50 kms!!! Anyways only reached Malacca at around 830 pm when I was supposed to reach by 745 pm. Reached home, unpacked and....ZZZZzzzzzz.....

Monday(15-06-2009)
Forced myself outta bed after snoozing my alarm for like the 10th time.. =P got ready for clinics and walked to the hospital. Had breakfast in the hospital and then went up to the wards - waited for the others to arrive. Had usual non-productive class with a lecturer and then had to go back to campus for some compulsory function. By the way, I have been looking forward for today throughout the whole weekend because a small group of us planned to go to- wait for it- SUNWAY LAGOON!! Hehehe... Signed our attendance for that talk and before we knew it, we were on the highway zooming towards our destination!! Comfortably sitting in the Penang number-plated MYVI was Gayathri ( she was driving), Chandan, Dinesh and yours truly. At the Lagoon we were meeting up with Chandan's cousins. First of we decided to go hit the dry park then proceed to the wet park. I had initially made up my mind that I was not going to go on any rides that required me to go upside down. So the rides were fun. The rollercoster was actually really really fun! I would have faced my fears and gone on the Pirate's Ship but when I saw it go all the way around I was like 'Hell no!!'. But the one thing I will not forget about this trip to Sunway Lagoon is Gayathri and the Tomahawk. She didnt know that it would go all the way round then cross over... We could hear her intermittent screams throughout the whole ride. It was hillarious.. The wet park wasnt as much fun as the dry. Soon it was almost 6 pm and we decided to leave. Plus our tummies were making noises already.
We decided to have dinner at Carl's Jr. To sum up dinner in one word - Yummylicious!!!
The ride back home I know nothing off because as usual - ZZZZzzzzzz.
*hehehehe..I'm like the worst person to travel with. Always 'tidur' wan!!* As I awoke from my deep slumber, we had reached Ayer Keroh toll. * I know!! So perfect timing kan?* And to end the ever-so-filled with-laughter day we decided to go watch a movie - Drag Me To Hell. But that story is for another time. I will put up the review for that movie when I have the time. Hehehe.. All-in-all it was a fun filled day and so worth the trip back and forth!!

Wednesday(17-06-2009)
It was a normal day till about like 6 pm when I received an invitation to Pure Bar later that night. So after dinner, which lasted up till 10 pm, came back home and got ready for Pure. We (Gillian, Dinesh, Daveena, Andrew and Me) left for Pure at around 11 pm. There we were meeting up with another bunch of friends. Although we went there late, hanging out with friends, just talking and drinking, and certainly not forgetting dancing was just so much fun!! At around 2 am we decided we have had enough for the day but we were hungry, which resulted in us going for Bah Kuh Teh for supper!!....Hehehee....

Hugs and Us

"A hug is a form of physical intimacy that usually involves closing or holding the arms around another person or group of persons. A hug is one of the most common human signs of affection and love."

Hugging is good medicine. It transfers energy, and gives the person hugged an emotional boost. You need four hugs a day for survival, eight for maintenance, and twelve for growth. A hug makes you feel good. The skin is the largest organ we have and it needs a great deal of care. A hug can cover a lot of skin and gives the message that you care. It is also a form of communication. It can say things you don't have words for. The nicest thing about a hug is that you usually can't give one without getting one. Hugs are not only nice they are needed... Hugs can relieve pain and depression.. make the healthier happier, and the most secure even more so.. Hugging feels good and overcomes fear... It provides stretching exercise to short people and stooping exercise to tall people... Hugging does not upset the environment.. It saves heat and energy... requires no special equipment.. Hugging makes happy days happier and impossible days possible.

There's something in a simple hug
That always warms the heart;

It welcomes us back home
And makes it easier to part.

A hug's a way to share the joy
And sad times we go through,
Or just a way for friends to say
They like you 'cause you're you.

Hugs are meant for anyone
For whom we really care,
From your grandma to your neighbour,
Or a cuddly teddy bear.

A hug is an amazing thing -
It's just the perfect way
To show the love we're feeling
But can't find the words to say.

It's funny how a little hug
Makes everyone feel good;
In every place and language,
It's always understood.

And hugs don't need new equipment,
Special batteries or parts -
Just open up your arms
And open up your hearts.

Jill Wolf

To all those people who have yr loved ones by your side as you read this, give them a hug..We don't need a reason to hug someone we love. A hug speaks many languages and says a million things. It's sad that people don't hug enough these days. A hug is like a handshake from the heart. Everything stops with a handshake these days..we call it being poised, civilized and formal.Tomorrow is World Hug Day. So here is my suggestion to all you guys - give out hugs all day tomorrow. Keep track of how many people you have hugged by the end of the day. Remember a hug is all that a person needs at times to transform his day into an amazing one. Your hug might mean the world to someone! You never know but your hug just might make someone's day brighter!!! =)

Finally 'The Day' is here...

Finally the day I've been waiting for ever since my Orthopedics posting started is HERE!! Tomorrow marks my last day in Muar General Hospital's orthopedic department. Yabba Dabba Doo!!!

Don't get me wrong. I love the posting, the doctors in Muar, and the car rides to Muar. But the weather is horrible and the ortho ward there has got no air circulation... Can die wan lei!! The moment you step into the wards all you can think off is when you are gonna leave it! So yeah tomorrow is my last day in Muar and to make things even better - IT'S HALFDAY!!! All that being said... somehow I know I will miss Muar! (I think I'm going crazy for saying this =P) I will miss:
  • the morning rides to Muar ( Lester's fast and furious driving)
  • Our not-so-usual meals in the hospital cafeteria ( did I mention the over-priced food??)
  • Our frequent visits to McD's for lunch... followed by a sundae dessert ( almost always just by me)
  • Our constant bitching of how wonderful A3 is....( in case you didnt get it, that was sarcasm)
  • Our amazing rides back to Malacca...usually always filled with laughter throughout the whole journey...
For all the above and more Muar shall be missed... Not a lot but in the right acceptable amounts...Hehehe =)

Why Not Be Honest For A Change??

It's been some time now...and I have come to the conclusion that we, humans, can never been truthful about how we feel. We always try to sugar coat stuff or find ways and means to break it of to the other person in a nice way. Now you see, that isn't the bad part. Its called being caring and we just dun want the other person's feelings to get hurt. Right??....

The problem or should I say default in this system of ours comes to surface when people tend to say certain things although they don't mean it! For what?? All in the name of being polite! Now that's utter bullshit!! One can say a million things and still avoid saying things they don't mean! Why would you wanna say that you miss someone when the only time you think of that person is when you receive a text message from them saying they miss you??!! What is the need to respond with a 'I miss you too!' when you clearly don't??!! That's just S.T.U.P.I.D if you ask me!

Things would be so much easier if people just spoke their mind. One doesn't necessarily have to be rude in order to speak your mind. It can be done in a very civilized and sophisticated manner. But the main point is to speak the truth and if you can make do without the sugar coating and all...all the better!

Hostel Day

On the 4th of June 2009, MMMC celebrated Hostel Day. A Day for all the hostel dwellers. This year it was held at the Boy's Hostel.
Few of us were in charge of the stage and decoration. Preparation for this day started like weeks ago. So much of planning and hardwork finally paid off when the stage and the deco looked simply amazing!!

The day of Hostel Day was such a rush. I was up till 3am the previous day preparing the coloured rice for the Rangoli. Mixing....drying.....washing....cleaning...By the time I was done my hands n nails were this rainbow of colours. Cleaned up and went to bed.
Woke up at 9am and realised i have lotsa stuff to do...You see while mixing the colours I realised that I didnt buy enough rice. So now I had to go buy more rice, come back, mix some more colours, and dry them. I was planning to start the Rangoli at 3pm as the show was at 7pm. By the time I came back from town it was already 2.30 pm.
Packed everything and rushed to the stage area at around 3.15 pm. The others were already halfway decorating the stage and backdrop. Shit I was late. So got right down to it. Thank God I had Daveena and Veno to help me out. Although it took loke 3 hours to do it, I think the final outcome was simply amazing...

The night was amazing. The theme ( If you have not guessed it yet) was Bollywood night!! So everyone dressed up in their best kurtas and sarees. As the night fell and the lights and candles were lit, the ambience was simply amazing! It was a wonderful night filled with lotsa laughs and fun times with friends. With the 'Slumdog Millionaire' show By Chandan, the all-so funny 'shananagans' by Hisyam, the B. Coli street play and the melodious singing of Su Lin and MMMC's very own idol, Ismail - it was indeed a night to remember! As the night came to an end, I looked back at the stage and all...smiled and said 'What a night! What a night!' Here are some shots from that day:
