Text For The Day

Today I'm gonna share with you guys 2 of my favourite texts from the Bhagavad Gita. Hope you guys will enjoy it.

Chapter 4 Text 7
यदा यदा ही धर्मस्य गलानिर भवति
भारत अभ्युत्थानं अधर्मस्य तदात्मानं स्र्जाम्यहम
Yadaa Yadaa Hi Dharmasya
Glaanir Bhavati Bhaarata
Abhyutthaanam Adharmasya
Tadaatmanam Srjaamyaham

Translation
: Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice (Dharma), O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise in irreligion - at that time I descend Myself.

Chapter 4 Text 8
परित्राणाय साधुनाम विनाशाय दुस्क्र्ताम
धर्मासम्स्तापनार्थाया संभवामि युगे युगे
Paritranaaya Saadhunaam
Vinashaya Cha Dushkrtaam

Dharma Samsthaapanarthaaya
Sambhavami Yuge Yuge

Translation
: To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium.

For those people who enjoy listening to music scores from films, these two texts are sung in the score of the 'Bulletproof Monk' (towards the ending of the movie if I am not mistaken). When I was thought the Bhagavad Gita, for some reason, these two stanzas were always at the tip of my tongue and in my head. Maybe it was the way it sounded, the pronunciation or the tongue-twisting words in it. But as time went by the meaning somehow got to me rather than all the fore mentioned.

The belief of The Supreme Godhead mentioned in Hinduism is ever so clearly summarised in these 2 texts. He will come to your aid if you are in the right path - the righteouss path(Dharma). God is here, God is there, God is everywhere. Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omniprescence. So what if today didn't go well?? Thanks to Him, you have another day to live, to love, to serve!
